PROMINENT breeder Ray Borda looks set for a big 2019 on the back of recent matings with sisters Aston Miley and Aston Selena.
Group 1 Melbourne Cup finalist Aston Miley has been retired after just 19 starts, where she managed to make three Group finals, including a third behind Thirty Talks in the 2017 Geelong Cup. The daughter of Barcia Bale and Aston Elle has been mated to Brett Lee – a champion greyhound who has left an indelible mark on the sport as a chaser and a sire.
Aston Selena – a sister to Aston Miley and Melbourne Cup winner Aston Dee Bee – will also finish her career as a lightly-raced chaser, finishing with the impressive record of 12 wins from 22 starts. The black chaser has been mated to Black Magic Opal, the sire of top quality chasers Lightning Frank, Bewildering and Patch Adam – the fastest chaser at Wentworth Park in 2017.
Both litters are due in late March.
