UNCHANGEABLE, who had been in his new kennel just four days, and the consistent Midnight Emma, yesterday week gave Mark Davidson his first Wentworth Park winning double in a decade as a trainer.

Midnight Emma, who had registered a win and two seconds before her 520m Ladbrokes Cash Out heat, was closer to the early lead than usual and ran home a winner by a neck from Snow Fantasy.

Midnight Emma clocked 30.59 while Davidson’s other winner, Unchangeable, overcame an unusually slow getaway to win his heat of the Cash Out by nearly two lengths in 30.35.

“Punters HQ Syndicate bought Unchangeable and Confinement from their owners recently but left them with trainer Jodie Lord while they completed their National Derby assignments,” Davidson said.

“When they didn’t qualify for the final we picked them up after the last race at Wentworth Park on January 27.

“Because this Cash Out series, for dogs with two to five wins, was programmed for Wednesday, I agreed to nominate them for the heats providing they settled in to their new surroundings okay.

“Unchangeable seems to be bomb-proof, because the altered surroundings did not worry him at all.

“Confinement was a bit wary of me at first but he settled in reasonably well, though probably not as comfortably as Unchangeable.

“Midnight Emma is raced by Craig O’Loughlin, who runs the Punters HQ Syndicate with Joe Lannutti, along with his brother.

“Craig and his brother bought Midnight Emma primarily because of her breeding and her value as a brood bitch.”

Midnight Emma is a daughter of Midnight Capers, the 2012 National Futurity winner who is the dam of highly successful racers Pride Of Charlie, Beside The Truth, Midnight Francis and Rusty Memories.
