REGALLY bred Fernando Bale youngster Two Times Twice made an ultra-impressive debut at Richmond last Friday night, producing the standout performance in the heats of the lucrative Globe Memorial Maiden.

Trained by master conditioner John Finn, Two Times Twice is an April ’16 son of Fernando Bale from the first litter of former star NSW bitch Chica Destacada, the 2014 National Sprint champion and Melbourne Cup runner-up.

After a slick 30.95 performance trial at Richmond, Two Times Twice dominated betting on the last of seven heats of the $15,000 to-the-winner Globe Memorial Maiden, starting at $1.40 from box two, and the result was never in doubt as the blueblood led all-the-way in 30.71, defeating runner-up Blitzem Miah by 7.75 lengths.

Two Times Twice was veteran mentor Finn’s third debutant to start odds-on in the heats, with Poco Dorado, a litter sister to Two Times Twice, and Winsome Money, an April ’16 son of Fernando Bale and Winsome Amanda, both finishing second at $1.50.

The performance of Poco Dorado, which had clocked 29.92 in a performance trial at Dapto, in the penultimate run-off was full of merit, after she came out on her nose, before recovering to run second to all-the-way winner Nabiac Soldier.

Finn also qualified Winsome Express, a litter brother to Winsome Money, for Friday night’s semi-finals.

While Finn produced three exciting Fernando Bale youngsters, the heats were dominated by the progeny of another promising young stud dog, with My Bro Fabio remarkably siring five of the seven winners.

My Bro Fabio produced, in time order, Nabiac Soldier (30.88), Zipping Nancy (31.00), Bimini (31.09), Sheez My Chicki (31.10) and Abundant Assets (31.19).

The remaining heat winner, Winlock Silver, which ran 30.95 for Jodie Lord, is a January ’15 son of Banjo Boy and Kovesi Zarr.

The Globe Memorial Maiden series will continue on Friday with four semi-finals, with Two Times Twice drawn in box five in a very competitive third qualifier, where’ll he clash with three other heat winners in Zipping Nancy, Bimini and Nabiac Soldier.
