It has been a part of Aston Dee Bee's recent stud career that he has been restricted to AI matings.

“He's been such a special sire,” said Borda.

“He is eight but he is an old eight.

“It is also the reason I retired Aston Rupee so young.”

Aston Dee Bee won 35 of his 65 starts and earned $798,000 when trained by Seona Thompson.

He won the G1 Melbourne Cup and set track records at Warragul and Bulli.

He won four Group finals and won or was placed or a finalist in five Group 1s.

On Saturday night he will be represented by French Martini, Reflections and She's A Pearl in the G1 Paws Of Thunder.

She's A Pearl (27 wins, $1.53 million) is his flag bearer.

But his star performers include Vice Grip (38 wins, $562,000), Photo Man (13 wins, $419,000), Untapped (14 wins, $312,000), Typhoon Sammy (43 wins, $309,000) etc etc etc.
