PROLIFIC winning sprinter Stop Line will exit box one when he sizes up a deserved group race victory in next Tuesday's Ladbrokes Devonport Chase Final (452m).

Winner of the Devonport Cup consolation back in January, running a sizzling 25.22, Stop Line landed his 29th victory in Tuesday's Devonport Chase heats, qualifying for the final with a slick 25.66 success.

Boasting the remarkable Devonport winning record of 19 wins from 28 starts, the Jillian Stamford-trained son of St. Pierre will start favourite for next week's $25,000 to-the-winner final.

Victory in the group 3 feature next Tuesday will see Stop Line – fifth in last year's Hobart Thousand – emulate the deeds of his Australian Cup winning sire St. Pierre, winner of the 2011 Devonport Cup.

Stamford takes a two-pronged attack into next week's final after Dyna Double One chaser Leica Prayer took out her heat in 25.80, extending her record to nine wins from 23 starts.

Hobart track record holder Stanley Gordon wobbled his way to victory in heat two of the Devonport Chase, running 25.64 from box three, the same draw he'll negotiate in the finale for trainer Ted Medhurst.

Loaded with ability, the powerhouse son of My Bro Fabio isn't anywhere near as comfortable at Devonport as he is at Hobart, making his task in the final all the more difficult.

Trainer Pat Ryan also scooped a winning double in Tuesday's heats with Ned Isakoff and Sacred Shadow victorious in their respective qualifiers.

Ned Isakoff – a brother to Group 1 Hume Cup winner True Detective – has gone ahead in leaps and bounds since finding his way to Tasmania and from box six in next week's final will need to do everything right to secure victory.

The last of Tuesday's Devonport Chase heats was annexed by Anthony Bullock's Bridwood Marshal, defeating red hot favourite Raging Ralston by a head in 25.98 – the slowest of the six heats.

The box draw for next week's Ladbrokes Devonport Chase Final is;

Box 1 – Stop Line; Box 2 – Bridwood Marshal; Box 3 – Stanley Gordon; Box 4 – Sacred Shadow; Box 5 – Leica Prayer; Box 6 – Ned Isakoff; Box 7 – Speedy Deneholme; Box 8 – Chief's Empire. 1st reserve – It's Fletch; 2nd reserve – Raging Ralston.
