Topgun Fields Begin To Take Shape

The final acceptances for the Group 1 TAB Topgun and Group 2 TAB Stayers Topgun are listed below, with the final fields to be announced on Sky Racing's The Catching Pen on Tuesday, October 16, at 6.30pm.

The Group 1 TAB Topgun – to be run on October 27 – is worth $150,000 to the winner, while this year's Stayers version will see the winning greyhound take home $75,000.

The Meadows Manager Marg Long said additions to the list will occur after racing across the country this Friday night.

"Late invitations will be sent to the semi-final winners of the Million Dollar Chase (to be run on Friday at Wentworth Park) and to the winner of the Group 1 Adelaide Cup (Friday) if not previously on the list of invitees. The TOPGUN panel will then meet over the weekend to help finalise the eight runners in each of the two big finals."

TOPGUN night will also see the running of heats of the Group 1 Hume Cup over 600 metres, in what promises to be one of the biggest evenings on the greyhound racing calendar.
