TWO time Group winning sprinter Knight Sprite has been retired with owner/trainer Gayle Masterson recently registering her star conveyance for stud duties.

Winner of 34 races and a quarter-of-a-million in prizemoney during a remarkable career, the fashionably bred son of Magic Sprite and Jaydo’s Neglect will stand for a service fee of $1,000.

“I’ve had a lot of people in the Hunter enquire about using Ollie at stud so I had him registered recently with some straws drawn this week,” said Masterson.

“Not only was he a great race dog, he’s got a beautiful nature and temperament. We’ll just take things slowly but anyone that would like to use him can feel free to contact me.”

Winner of the Group 2 Richmond Derby and Group 2 Gosford Gold Cup in 2016, Knight Sprite also finished a courageous second in this year’s Gosford Cup to Barking Bad, with another of his career highlights a third placing in the 2016 Group 1 Golden Easter Egg Final.

“It’s been a great ride and I love him heaps,” added Masterson.

“I hope everyone has enjoyed him as much as I have and now I look forward to watching his pups going around in the future.”
