Made In America On Track For Ipswich Auction

THE Greg Stella-trained Made In America made it seven wins from eight starts with a dazzling 25.16 win in a heat of the Ipswich Auction series on Friday.

GREG Stella shakes his head every time he looks at “that” toe on Made In America's foot.

“He broke a toe being reared as a pup and it looks shocking,” said Greg.

“But the dog has unlimited ability.”

Made In America (Zambora Brockie-Lilly Sur Seine) took his remarkable record to eight starts for seven wins when he ran 25.16 to win a heat of the 431m Ipswich Auction series on Friday.

He will run in the semi-finals at Ipswich on Saturday night.

“The toe is always a worry and consequently I cannot work him between races,” said Stella who trains Made In America for Donna Darcy.

“He's a member of a fabulous litter that also contains Sequana, Stinger Noir and No Easy Beat.”

Already the winner of the Capalaba Derby, Made In America has trialled much quicker than he ran in his first round of the Auction series.

Stella has already had discussions with a vet in regards to taking off the first joint of the problem toe.

“He continually pulls up sore in the toe,” said Greg. “At one stage it was thought we should get the whole toe taken off.

“He's a very fast dog. He is the only fawn in the litter the rest being all black.

“And, he has that real American dog look about him … hence his name.”
