Barcia Bale Pup Scores Impressively On Debut

BARCIA Bale youngster Marske landed a betting move when winning on debut in a 431m Ipswich maiden on Tuesday to continue a winning family trend.

BARCIA Bale youngster Marske landed a significant betting move when winning on debut in a 431m Ipswich maiden on Tuesday to continue a winning family trend.

Marske (Barcia Bale-Trip Along) ran 25.37 to win the maiden on debut, the fourth member of the six-pup litter to be successful at their first start.

He scored by almost eight lengths over She's Hot Gossip and Zipping Flick backed down to $1.35.

Mark Rowe shared in the breeding of the litter with trainer Darren Russell and Wayne Brockman who owned the dam, already a proven Group class producer.

“Darren and I had bought a straw for Barcia Bale to use on Mysterious Thing, but unfortunately we lost her,” said Mark. “So we had the straw sitting there to use.

“Wayne offered us the use of Trip Along and we jumped at the chance to do the deal.”

The other three from the litter to win first up are Out For Sport, Welcome Light and the very impressive Ivy Wild who broke 25-seconds on debut at Ipswich.

“Greg Brennan is training the other two and they are not far off starting,” said Mark.

Rowe said Marske was to run through the Vince Curry series at Ipswich earlier in the year but a few niggling injuries put back his debut.

Dam Trip Along has already produced Group finalist Lockety Brin third in the G2 Queensland Futurity and a finalist in the Vince Curry Maiden.

Meanwhile, Gerard Bowe continued his great run of recent success when he prepared a treble at Ipswich with Take All (Barcia Bale-Crazy Sexy), It's A Rush (Fernando Bale-It's A Fling) and Cult Hero (SH Avatar-Flash Glance) all winning over 431m.
