Agent Nevada Proving To Be Tracey's Best Buy Yet

BACK in March last year, trainer Tracey Kovacic made an offer for a promising young bitch in Tasmania by the name of Agent Aspen.

BACK in March last year, Tracey Kovacic made an offer for a promising young bitch in Tasmania called Agent Aspen.

Tracey bought the bitch but it was on the proviso she take her litter sister Agent Nevada as well.

Agent Aspen had won seven of her previous nine starts when Tracey made the offer to buy her.

Agent Nevada had won just once.

“The deal to buy Aspen meant we had to take the sister as well,” said Tracey. “I looked over her form and thought she might be able to win a race or two.”

On Friday night at Wentworth Park, both bitches line up for heats of The Ultra Sense (520m) and it is Agent Nevada who has become the standout of the pair since arriving in NSW.

She has since won nine races and her stakes tally is $39,000.

“She's grown another leg since she came here,” said Tracey.

“And I expect her to keep improving.”

Agent Nevada hurt her stopper when second at Wentworth Park on March 11 but has recovered and a 29.90 trial last week has prepped her for Friday night's heat of The Ultra Sense.

“She will go in a little underdone still,” admitted Tracey.

Tracey has three in training and seven retirees at her Matcham kennels.

“I've been following greyhounds since I was 14 when I went racing with my brother Steve,” she said.

“I've been training on and off since I was 18 and learnt so much from the late, great Kevin Johns.”

Agent Nevada goes into Friday night's heat after wins at The Gardens, Gosford and Wentworth Park in 29.78 before running second to Inside Dart at her latest outing.
