All Hands Off Blazes Into MDC Semi-Finals

FRED Swain knows he has got a potential top line stayer on his hands but he has some pressing business to take care of first … and a million reasons to do so.

Fred's star race bitch All Hands Off (Barcia Bale-Fay's Magic) brilliantly won the Lismore Million Dollar Chase final (520m) last night in a scorching 29.61.

She scored by seven lengths beating Cooper Dooper and Hammer Down with her own litter sister Tribal Magic close up in fourth.

All Hands Off has had only one trip to Wentworth Park in her 20-start race career when she was fifth in a heat of the Peter Mosman Opal back in July.

With a million dollars up for grabs this time, Fred will take no chances with his bitch.

He was forced into taking on the Opal series with the star bitch who had not been to Wenty.

“I've got a little bit of time up my sleeve now and will take her to trial at Wenty next Tuesday,” he said. “She will need the trial on the track again and the travelling experience.

“Ideally I would like to give her two trials on the track, but that is just not possible.”

Fred knows his bitch is starting to lose her first section and he also is well aware he could have a potential staying star in his kennel.

“I really don't know how good she is,” he said. “She looks a future stayer for sure especially the way she gets to the line now.

“But it's difficult putting them up in distance at a young age.”

All Hands Off turned two in March. Her career stats are 20 starts for 14 wins and three placings for $47,000 in stakes.

Her race winning times have been remarkable including a 23.68 and 29.49 at Lismore, and a 29.84 at Albion Park.

“And, fortunately for us, the entire litter really likes Albion Park the best,” said Fred.

Litter sister Tribal Magic has already won there in 29.95.

With the Queensland border set to re-open to Northern Rivers residents, that too will suit Fred and his quality litter.

Dam Fay's Magic has a litter by Raw Ability now five months old.

“They are lovely looking pups,” said Fred.
