Aloisi Avalanche To Descend On Nationals

TIM Aloisi has just four dogs in his South Australian kennel but two of those are heading to The Meadows in a couple of weeks with Group 1 assignments.

Raver's Army (Fernando Bale-Bella Rico) goes into the G1 National Sprint after rattling home to win the SA final at Angle Park on Thursday night in 30.59 when beating Reality Infrared and Dash Of Blue.

And, Zipping Neutron (SH Avatar-Zipping Abby) took his consecutive win record to 10 when he led throughout to win the SA Distance final in 43.22 beating Springvale Rex and Dashing Deb.

Zipping Neutron is, according to Alosi, is his best chance in the National finals.

“I give him a place chance in the final,” said Tim.

“I liked his chances of leading on Thursday night and that's what he did.

“A few of the locals didn't think so but he has been coming out better lately. The inside draw was a blessing.

“Yes, I realise the Nationals at Group 1 level are very hard races to win and I'm being realistic about our hopes.”

Of Raver's Army, Tim believes his dog has gone under the radar for far too long.

“I was very impressed with his run,” he said.

“He doesn't get much attention, but he gets the job done.

“He has won 18 of his past 27 starts. We just love the dog.”

But Aloisi is realistic about his chances.

“It's a very tough ask for him,” said Tim. “He'll meet some fast dogs and he looks out of his depth.

“But, we are just honoured to be in the races.”

Aloisi admitted his dog's place in the National Sprint was at the expense of the best dog in South Australia, Victa Damian.

“I feel very sorry for the connections of Victa Damian, the Schadow family, who was not allowed to run in the heats of the Sprint,” said Tim.

“He's a jet and if he was in the final last night he would have won by six.”

The Nationals finals will be run on August 26.
