Anderson “Surprised” By Near Record Run

NO one was more surprised by Trouble At Mill's near track record win at Goulburn on Friday than the dog's breeder, owner and trainer Alex Anderson.

NO one was more surprised by Trouble At Mill's near track record win at Goulburn on Friday than the dog's breeder, owner and trainer Alex Anderson.

The son of Unlawful Entry and Sketchy Fanta ran a remarkable 24.33 to win a red hot Ladbrokes Red Dog Final (440m) by an ever extending margin.

The slashing time was just outside the track record mark of 24.29 for the distance which set by Got A Casino in a heat of the Goulburn Cup back on October 20.

“Yes, it was a bit of a surprise,” said Alex.

“But what was most surprising about it is the fact he has always been a moderate beginner early in his career.

“He has now started to jump with them.”

Trouble At Mill has had two runs from an injury-enforced spell for two wins at Goulburn.

He had not raced since winning at Richmond over 618m in August in a fast 35.66.

“He had a couple of small injuries after that run and one of those was a toe so we had to be careful of what we did with him,” said Alex.

Anderson raved about the litter by Unlawful Entry from his former smart speedster Sketchy Fanta (Swift Fancy-Time To Play) the winner of 21 races all over 300m to 400m.

“I put her to Unlawful Entry to get stamina into the pups,” said Alex.

“If you look at the replays of Unlawful Entry, he was a very strong dog.

“That win of his in the Hobart 1000 was terrific.”

Alex is so wrapped in the litter he has already bought another semen vial for Unlawful Entry to use again on Sketchy Fanta when she next comes into season.

“And that should be soon,” he said.

The former star sprinter is beginning to receive significant interest at stud with his early pups showing tremendous ability.
