ASTON Rupee has been installed a $2.40 favourite for next Saturday night’s Group 1 Temlee at The Meadows.

The reigning Topgun winner will exit box four in the $100,000-to-the-winner invitation following on from his sublime 28.94 victory at Sandown Park on Thursday.

Second favourite at $4.60 is the Andrea Dailly-trained Lala Kiwi with the Melbourne Cup runner-up set to exit box eight in her quest for group 1 glory.

New South Wales powerhouse Zipping Kyrgios is $5 in early betting with the son of Aussie Infrared needing to overcome box five if he’s to secure victory.

Adelaide Cup winner Do It has drawn precariously in trap six for his Temlee bid while Queensland star Spotted Elk, runner-up in The Phoenix in December, has drawn box three.

Rounding out the race is Kinson Bale in box one, Idolize in box two while Zippy Tesla will exit trap seven.

Meanwhile, Jungle Deuce’s hold on the Group 1 Rookie Rebel (600m) on strengthened on Saturday night with the last start Gold Bullion winner drawing box one.

Installed a $2.40 favourite, Jungle Deuce will be eyeing a seventh group race success in the $75,000-to-the-winner invitation for trainer Jack Smith.

Sandown track record holder Collinda Patty has drawn box eight as she continues her return from injury while McCooly’s Lad, second to Jungle Deuce in last month’s Golden Sands at Albion Park, has drawn box two.

Favourite for the Zoom Top (725m) is the Jeff Britton-trained Mepunga Ruby.

Drawn suitably in box two, Mepunga Ruby is $3.30 in early markets ahead of NSW star Stanley Road which was dealt no favours at the box draw landing trap six.
