Bale Brothers Christo, Jarick On Way To Top

BACK in 2011, legend Paul Wheeler defied convention by putting the bitch Tally Bale to the stayer Ashom Bale who had done most of his racing over in WA.
Convention demands breeders NOT use stayers, but that mattered nought to Paul Wheeler and from the mating he got Dyna Nalin winner of the Group 1 Topgun, G1 Perth Cup, G1 Sale Cup and runner-up in the G1 Maturity and third in the G1 Australian Cup.
Cop that!
The Wheeler family has always backed their own judgement, mixing their own bloodlines with great success.
And, that is what Brendan Wheeler is doing these days with those great race dogs Christo Bale and Jarick Bale.
Christo Bale (Barcia Bale-Houston Bale by Turanza Bale) was outstanding in 67 starts for 29 wins and 22 placings earning $295,000, making 11 Group finals and twice winning the G2 McKenna Memorial, the G3 Speed Star and being placed at G1 level three times.
Jarick Bale is a son of Allen Deed and a half-brother to Christo Bale.
He was a "phenom" on the track starting 115 times for 37 wins, 37 placings and $618,000 in stakes.
He made 13 Group finals but significantly won the G1 Sale Cup twice as well as the G1 Rookie Rebel and was a G1 placegetter or finalist four times.
Christo Bale has been well used by the Wheeler family and already he is the sire of that most brilliant of young dogs in Vincent Bale (3rd G1 Maturity).
Brendan has already got litters to Jarick Bale from three of their huge band of broodbitches, Quail Bale, Xamira Bale and the very smart Gracie Bale.
"Jarick Bale, in particular, only has to throw his racetrack reliability to be a huge success," Brendan said.
"We've put those nice bitches to him, all of them with something different to present.
"That way we get to see what works best with him."
The pair are out of the US influenced bitch Houston Bale, a daughter of that great Wheeler dog Turanza Bale and the imported US bitch Sequoia.
"Both dogs were great chasers," said Brendan of the famous half brothers.
"And in Christo's case, sons of Barcia Bale are proving to be fine sires.
"Every one of them at stud seems able to get at least one really good dog."
Of Jarick Bale, he is a son of the Wheeler's much underrated stud dog, The Meadows track record breaker Allen Deed.
Great names like Yachi Bale (20 wins, $844,000), Stanley Road (21 wins, $452,000), Qwara Bale (21 wins, $367,000), Jax Bale (27 wins, $255,000), Zohar Bale (24 wins, $247,000), Ailee Bale (19 wins, $210,000) are just some of the racetrack giants by Allen Deed.
Both Christo Bale and Jarick Bale are absolutely perfect for matings to daughters of Fernando Bale to continue the perfect recipe for success the Wheeler family has been utilising for decades.
