FEATURE racing this Thursday night turns to Angle Park where the Group 3 South Australian Derby and Oaks will be decided on a big card of racing.

With a cool $25,000 awaiting the winner of each event, it's not surprising that the border-hopping Victorian's dominate betting for both group 3 races, with slashing 29.50 heat winner Curt Lee a solid $1.85 favourite for the Derby, while Mepunga Maggie is a tight $2.25 to claim the Oaks.

In New South Wales, two qualifiers of the Million Dollar Chase will be run at Maitland in the twilight, the highlight the return to racing of Group 1 Golden Easter Egg winner Zipping Bailey.

NOTE: Times are listed in Australian Eastern time.

MAITLAND – Race 6 (5.40pm) Number 4, FLYING BAZZA

Just the six dogs go around in this Million Dollar Chase heat but it's stacked with quality. Powerhouse youngster Flying Bazza steps out for the first time in a month today and by all reports his trialling the house down. Suited by the small field and his only previous Maitland start was a rampaging 25.21 victory. Can go a lot quicker than that and with clear air early will prove mighty hard to beat. Takes on his kennel-mate Zipping Bailey at the right time this afternoon, the Golden Easter Egg winner resuming from an injury enforced spell. Promises to be a cracking race.

BETEASY: $2.60

SANDOWN PARK – Race 8 (8.28pm) Number 1, PREMIER RUMBLE

Chasing three wins on the trot tonight, this fella is only a good set of box manners away from being a star. Has a tendency to botch the start more often than not which has made his two most recent wins from box seven (at Sandown & The Meadows) even more impressive. From the red tonight he gets the chance to overcome a moderate getaway in what looms as a terrific clash with Fernando's Riot in box four. The pair have a decided class edge on their rivals with betting reflecting that. With the aid of the red alley, with Premier Rumble to score at the $2.50 mark.

BETEASY: $2.50

DAPTO – Race 5 (8.49pm) Number 4, EXPLOSIVE DRUMS

Granted the favourite Riccobono will be hard to hold but the $4.00 about the speedy Explosive Drums represents terrific value for this. Has speed to burn and she really appreciates some room to move to her right early which makes the vacant box five draw outside her gold. Can post dazzling sections and will lead for a long way, the favourite is very strong and will be hard to hold out late, just hoping we can pinch a margin early and things fall our way. At the price, definitely worth a ticket – racing in very good form.

BETEASY: $4.00

ANGLE PARK– Race 8 (9.40pm) Number 4, CURT LEE

As they say seeing is believing and anyone that saw Curt Lee's mesmerising 29.50 Derby heat win last week will be buttering back up at the $1.85 tonight. Class runner of tonight's Derby finale and he couldn't have been more impressive at his Angle Park debut last week. Only needs to repeat last week's performance to land the prize, his best attribute is his box manners and explosive early speed, exactly what you want in your corner for a big race like this.

BETEASY: $1.85

** LAY **: ALBION PARK – Race 5 (8.19pm) Number 6, NO EASY BEAT

No doubting his ability and promise but the $1.80 for tonight's 4/5th grade assignment, from box six, doesn't appear good value at all. Boasts a flying 29.77 PB at the track and has a very big future but there's some depth to this race tonight and at his first start from box six preferring to let him go around at the price.

BEST BET: ANGLE PARK Race 8 (9.40pm) Number 4, CURT LEE

BEST VALUE: SANDOWN PARK – Race 4 (6.57pm) Number 3, BUNNING SNAG

Hasn't set the world on fire at her four previous Sandown starts but she comes into tonight's race in very good form, including a comprehensive 30.47 Cranbourne win two starts back. Runs into a very even grade five event tonight and her best first sectionals should see her up vying for the lead. In good hands and the $5.00 on offer looks good value in what's a quiet little race.
