Big Offer Refused For Budding Superstar

AN offer of a whopping $150,000 has been quickly refused for an exciting young star from the northern rivers ... the hugely talented Cash Master.

AN offer of $150,000 has been refused for exciting young Northern Rivers galloper Cash Master.

Part-owners Pat Gainey and Robert Cooke confirmed the offer had been made recently for the son of Aston Dee Bee-Cashpot.

He has won 10 of 15 starts and earned $54,000.

Cash Master is already the winner of the Listed QGOLD Emerging Sprinters final at Albion Park and holds the Grafton track record over 350m.

He has won in a scorching 29.58 around Albion Park.

“I've been waiting years to get a good dog like this,” said Gainey.

“It was a very good offer and Robert and I considered it, but in today's world, a dog of his ability can earn that sort of money.”

Cash Master finished fourth in a field of four in a heat of the G3 Golden Ticket at Albion Park last Thursday night.

He had to be scratched from the heats of the G2 Qld Derby a few weeks before with a minor problem.

“He went into the heats of the Golden Ticket a bit underdone and being a bit fresh he got too excited at the jump and missed it,” said Cooke.

“But, it didn't help that one on his inside laying on him to the winning post.

“And, we watched the start in slow motion and he went down on his nose as he came out of the boxes.

“I will give him this week off and he will go into the heats of the Group 1 (the Gold Bullion) on Thursday week.

“I believe there is every possibility he can earn that sort of money during his racing career.”

The offer is believed to have come from one of NSW's leading kennels.
