TIM Aloisi says it is Black Silencer's "time to shine".

Black Silencer (Hooked On Scotch-Gwydion) was sensational in leading throughout to win the Listed Clem Jones Cup (710m) at Albion Park last Thursday night and now will head to the heats of the Group 1 Gold Cup there this Thursday.

Black Silencer scored by nine and a half lengths beating Group 1 winners Irish Millie and Valpolicella in the Clem Jones Cup.

It took his record to 52 starts for 22 wins and 19 placings for stakes of $176,000.

Adelaide based Aloisi paid $50,000 for Black Silencer back in September last year.

He has won seven of his 15 starts since.

"He didn't travel too well when we went to Victoria with him so we left him with Steve and Kerrie White," Aloisi said.

That's when the dog finished second to Ethanol Water in the G1 Bold Trease and then second to Trooper Tears in the G1 Sale Cup final.

"We wanted to get to Brisbane with him for the Gold Cup.

"Steve suggested to send him early and leave him there which we have done settling him in with Tom Tzouvelis."

Black Silencer trialled 34.70 just before Nangar Gypsy won the G1 Golden Sands over 600m in 34.97.

"That really gave us a boost," he added.

The Clem Jones Cup victory was awesome.

Black Silencer began well from out wide and was in front turning into the home straight the first time.

While Irish Millie and Valpolicella were well back early and having interrupted runs, Black Silencer was storming away in the scorching time of 41.59.

"We believe this could well be his time to shine," Aloisi said.

"He's come about right at the right time."

After the Gold Cup at Albion Park, Black Silencer will head back to Steve and Kerrie White for a tilt at the Group 1 Zoom Top and the Group 1 Fanta Bale Super Stayers.

"We will see how he is going after those races," he added.

"If he is still handling himself well, he could then go to Perth for the WA Galaxy.

"But if the tripping about and all the racing is starting to impact, he could come back to Adelaide for a freshen up."
