Blues Win At Casino

IN the lead up to the inaugural Origin series held at Albion Park on July 12, last Friday's Casino meeting has seen NSW trainers edge out their Queensland counterparts with a 6-4 ‘win.'

NSW's own Mitchell Northfield opened the afternoon with a win over the 411 with his in-form bitch Thanks Nelly.
The next three races was a Queensland affair, with prominent Queenslander Claude Dacey taking out the second and third with littermates Love The Look and Classy Cassie respectively before Foxy Be Good grabbed the chocolates in the fourth for trainer Jason Aylward.
Trainer William Kennedy took out the fifth with his fawn bitch Red Candy, handing another point to NSW.
Claude Dacey then went on to take out race six with his Origin-nominated chaser Corykodi with a quick 27.71 personal best win over the 484m, earning Dacey a well-deserved treble for the meet.
The rest of the card was dominated by NSW trainers, most notably Lawrence Meteyard's smart chaser wrapping up race ten with Gunner Succeed. The 30kg dog notched his 20th win from 76 starts and has now, impressively, won out of every single box.
Corykodi was selected in the ‘train on' squad for Queensland in the first-of-its-kind Origin series among the likes of Slick and Go Lassie Go for Queensland, and Two Times Twice and Sky Wave for NSW.
The final selections are expected to be announced early this month.
