Break for Mr America Before Capalaba Cup Tilt

MR AMERICA will have an easy time coming off his record breaking win at Richmond on Saturday with the rich Capalaba Cup the purpose.

MR AMERICA will have an easy time for the next week or two coming off his record breaking 17.11 performance at Richmond on Saturday with the rich Capalaba Cup the purpose.

Trainer Darren Sultana confirmed the dog would not race again until the heats of the $60,000 Capalaba Cup (366m) on October 2.

The final of that race will be run on October 9.

“His run to break the record was fabulous,” said Darren. “He drew right and pinged the start. His sections were amazing.

“But, now he can have a slight break and we will take him up for the Capalaba Cup early next month.”

The son of SE Tali Sundance-Motel Girl is already the winner of the National Straight Track Championship at Richmond and went to Capalaba to win the Straight Of Origin.

He has now won 26 of 44 starts for joint owners George Kairouz and Terry Hill, and 17 of those have been on the straight.

Sultana confirmed Mr America would not be running in the Grand Prix at Capalaba. That series will be September 18 and 25 worth $9800.

Terry Hill was highest in praise of the job done by Sultana to get Mr America back to his best.

“I call him the coach,” Hill said of Sultana.

“What an amazing job he has done with this dog. Remember, when he got him the dog had just injured his Achilles tendon and may not have raced again.”

Hill confirmed he has been approached about a stud career for Mr America.
