CHARLIE'S LITTER OF FIVE TO FERNANDO
SUCCESSFUL producer Little Charlie whelped a litter of five to sire of the moment Fernando Bale on June 19.

Little Charlie (Collision x Marina's Limerick) won seven of her 15 starts on the track back in 2014, with her first litter to Fabregas, whelped in May 2015, producing city winner Victor Charlie, fourth to Mister Twister in the 2017 Richmond Riches Final.
With a second litter to Kinloch Brae 13 months of age, her third litter to the great Fernando Bale are sure to be prized possessions indeed.
POWER'S IRISH CONNECTION

IT'S been pretty difficult to take the Irish out of Mick Power, the Victorian dog man who has been an Aussie for many years now.

Mick's Irish brogue is still as strong as ever, and his love of greyhounds has never diminished.
Mick has recently bred a litter by Jarvis Bale from his nicely bred bitch Deliverance (Dyna Tron-Where's Tilly).
The four dogs and two bitches were whelped very late in May at Geoff Howell's Pearcedale property.
Deliverance raced just once and was badly injured. But Mick knew her ability and that is why he has given her a chance at stud.
Her dam Where's Tilly won 13 races and was placed 14 times her wins coming all over sprints at Traralgon, Shepparton, Healesville, Geelong, Warragul and Cranbourne.
Next dam Biscayne Babe won 6 races and was placed 10 times her wins coming at Cranbourne, Warragul and Sandown.
The mating Mick Power did to Jarvis Bale is virtually a recreation of Jarvis Bale's champion son Allen Deed (G1 Adelaide Cup, Meadows TR).
Remember, Jarvis Bale's half sister Chloe Allen is the dam of legend sprinter and now emerging siring great Fernando Bale.
Allen Deed's mother Greta Bale is by Where's Pedro-Gold Rush Bale and is bred on an identical cross to Deliverance.
In this mating, Awesome Assassin is duplicated and balanced, while Rosemary Bale (dam of Jarvis Bale) is bred on an identical cross to Dyna Tron.
Mick plans to sell a few of the litter at $2000 each.
Deliverance carries a double cross of famed broodbitch Duchess Marina, dam of Malawi's Prince and Chequers the fourth dam of Mick Power's bitch.
WORM BURNER POPULAR ON THE HOME FRONT

SOUTH Australian superstar Worm Burner has been hugely popular with breeders in his home state.

The son of Oaks Road-Little Looper is bred on almost identical lines to legend Fernando Bale. Worm Burner too was a great race dog.
Des McPhie certainly thinks so.
He reports his bitch Ballymac Finola (Ballymac Ruso-Little Spiral) has just whelped four dogs and four bitches to a mating to Worm Burner.
The pedigree of Ballymac Finola shows intense in-breeding to the littermates Tina Marina and Spiral Nikita. Both of them were high class race dogs and proved themselves at stud. Tina Marina won the Irish Derby.
This is a very similar cross to that found in champion Irish race dog and successful sire Milldean Panther (sire of Pantera Nera and Gelantipy Gold).
Tina Marina and Spiral Nikita come via females in the pedigree of Ballymac Finola. To balance this in any potential mating for Ballymac Finola, it was always going to need a MALE aspect.
Putting Ballymac Finola to Worm Burner does this perfectly by introducing a 3×3 cross of Spiral Nikita at the top and bottom of the pedigree.
Many great champions are bred on such a 3×3 at the top and bottom of the pedigree theme including Token Prince, Worth Doing and Brett Lee's own sire Gun Law Osti.
The litter was whelped late in May.
OFF AND RUNNING!

IT'S not often buyers get the chance to purchase pups from a champion race dog and sire and out of a Group winning bitch.

But that's the offer coming from Queenslander Tom Tzouvelis who has a litter of four dogs and five bitches by Fernando Bale-Off And On up for sale.
Whelped in June, the mating is already based on a proven recipe with Fernando Bale.
Off And On is by Tomac Bale-Jackie's Trouble by Surgeon. She won the G3 Darwin Cup and was a finalist in the Group 1 Brisbane Cup.
From 31 starts she won 13 and was placed seven times for $58,000 in stakes, and she is from a fabulous litter that includes six named offspring, all winners, and four of them top class.
Tom has four of the pups left to sell.
They are bred on an identical cross to Fernando Bale's recent G1 Australian Cup winner Hecton Bale and his litter brother, G2 Cranbourne Cup winner Mossimo Bale.
Hecton Bale's dam is Searle Bale (Dyna Lachlan-Princess Bale) and she is a litter sister to Tomac Bale, sire of the Tzouvelis bitch Off And On.
But, the Fernando-Off And On mating also brings in a 3×4 duplication and balanced via daughter and son of Primo Uno.
Cameron Butcher's brilliant young litter in South Australia, headed by Abuzz, is bred on a double of Primo Uno.
Get in fast with Tommy … pups of this quality will not last long.
BARRY BREEDS FOR BRILLIANCE

DOWN in Maryborough in Victoria, breeder Barry Waters reports his bitch Ritza Brilliance has whelped to Kinloch Brae.

She produced one dog and two bitches back in February to the mating.
Ritza Brilliance (Bombastic Shiraz-Ritza Night by Where's Pedro) was unraced but she is from one of the great female families this country has seen in recent times.
She is a genetic sister to Group 1 winner Aeroplane Ritzy, by Fabgreas (a son of Bombastic Shiraz) and also from Ritza Night. This is the Ready To Rain female family that also includes such greats as Spring Gun, and the half relations Shakey Jakey and Buck Fever plus many, many high class gallopers.
Almost all of the best progeny sired in Australia by Kinloch Brae carry a strong cross of Malawi's Prince, many of them have two crosses. This is why daughters of both Collision and Bombastic Shiraz are ideal for him. They have Malawi's Prince as the sire of their mother.
Ritza Brilliance has three crosses of Malawi's Prince in her pedigree.
Examples of the best progeny sired by Kinloch Brae and out of a daughter of Bombastic Shiraz include Group star littermates Ring The Bell, Blazin Bomber and Bells Are Ringin, also Derby winner Fun Boss and that wonderful litter that includes Tureaud and Astronomize.
Also, when the direct damline of Kinloch Brae was imported to Australia via a female, it was mated to Where's Pedro, and produced champion stayer Destini Fireball.
In the mating of Kinloch Brae and Ritza Brilliance, it goes a long way to recreating the pedigree of multiple Group 1 winner and now promising young stud dog Destini Fireball.
OUTSIDE THE SQUARE!

I ALWAYS find it fascinating when breeders look outside the square when designing their matings.
One such person is Steve Elsum at Camperdown in Victoria.
Steve has a March whelped litter by Birthday Boy-Radio Silent, six dogs and two bitches, he has for sale.
Birthday Boy, a 2006 whelp by Where's Pedro-Juma County by Awesome Assassin, was a pretty hot race dog and from the same National Dingaan family as Betty's Angel, Oaks Road and Magic Sprite … and many, many more greats.
He won the Geelong Cup and was an Australian Cup finalist.
He died without getting too many offspring to the track, but Steve, who trained Birthday boy, has obviously used him from semen stored for just that opportunity.
Birthday Boy did sire the better than handy Sam Harper.
It always amazed me Birthday Boy did not get rushed by broodbitch owners considering his wonderful and hugely successful pedigree.
Radio Silent (Djays Octane-Transmit) won six races and was placed 12 times and was a Sandown and Meadows winner. Her dam Transmit won five races all at Albion Park but she was whelped in Australia from Irish bloodlines imported to this country by Steve Kavanagh.
Transmit was Digital-Lark Song. She became the dam of Corridor (by Collision) that won 13 races and $68,000, as well as Broadway Miss (by Mogambo) that won 10 races and $35,000.
Radio Silent was a finalist in the Wagga Cup.
PRETTY IN PINK

TRENT Fenton in Hobart has a nicely bred litter by My Bro Fabio-Ain't She Pretty he has for sale.

Ain't She Pretty (Brett Lee-Indigo Flash by Slater) raced 43 times for 10 wins and 13 placings and earned $17,000. She was a winner at Bendigo, Launceston, Devonport and Hobart and got 600m.
This is the damline of the great staying bitch Many Tricks (dam of champion Malfoy).
Her mating to My Bro Fabio, whelped late in January, produced a number of factors that suit the bitch.
The first is a 4×2 duplication and balance of legend Brett Lee via a son and daughter. Next there is a significant cross of Shining Chariot and Wee Sal positioned to impact in the mating even though well back.
There is a double of Head Honcho via daughters but balanced via the cross of Walkabout Sid through a daughter in Turanza Bale (sire of Fabio).
The aspect that really appeals is the double of Spanish Dance along the direct damline on both sides of this mating.
AND, the fact Head Honcho is brought in again in this bitch's damline to link strongly with Spanish Dancer in Fabio's damline. This is a fabulous cross. Marty Hallinan has been utilising this reinforcement of the Spanish Dance damline with regularity to Group level in the past decade or so.
PASSION PERSONIFIED

THERE are few more dedicated dog men than Queenslander Adam McIntosh.

He's a virtual newcomer to the industry but has embraced it the world over even visiting the annual coursing festival at Clonmel in Ireland.
Adam has a wonderful litter he has bred recently, by Barcia Bale-Cincinatti Juice.
Cincinnati Juice won a heat of the G1 Vic Peters at Wentworth Park, along with other fast city wins on her way to 10 wins from 27 starts, amassing $22,000.
The bitch is by Made To Size-Tina's Show and this is one of the strongest damlines seen in Queensland, if not Australia.
An earlier Made To Size-Tina's Show litter produced the class act Made For Ron.
But a later litter, by Head Bound, is responsible for Outside Pass the multiple Group race star who has also just whelped her first litter, also to Barcia Bale.
Outside Pass retired to stud after 69 starts for 31 wins and 17 placings earning $242,000.
Adam had a number of dogs from the litter for sale and has decided to keep a number for himself.
BROOK TO BARCIA

JALAPENO is a pretty special stayer up in Queensland as evidenced by his great runs behind Tornado Tears in the recent G1 Albion Park Gold Cup and the Superstayers Invitation.

Jalapeno is by US stud great Kiowa Mon Manny-Brook Lee.
The dam Brook Lee, by G1 legend Brett Lee from Qld GOTY Miss Brook, was the winner of the G2 Vince Curry Maiden at Ipswich.
Now Brook Lee has whelped one dog and six bitches to her mating to Barcia Bale.
Brook Lee started 16 times for six wins and seven placings and earned $56,000.
From a mating to Collision, Brook Lee produced G1 placed and Ipswich 431m TR breaker Bubble Guppy (22 wins, 25 placings, $131,000).
He was second in the Winter Cup and third in the Harrison Dawson at Sandown.
Jalapeno has already won the G3 Qld Cup at Albion Park.
DOUBLING UP!

AT Branxton in the Hunter, breeder Bill Phelan has an in-bred litter the should take buyers notice.

They are by Dyna Double One-Kiera Bale.
Whelped in April, there are three dogs and four bitches in the litter.
Kiera Bale (KC And All-Fadila Bale by Meticulous) was a very nice race bitch who started 32 times for eight wins and nine placings.|
She was a winner at Sale, Geelong, Ballarat and Horsham.
Her litter included Howie Bale (8 wins, 16 placings, $26,000).
The mating, obviously, brings in a reinforcement of the Wheeler direct damline.
Dyna Double One is really starting to fire at stud.
His son Double Gee smashed the track record at Casino over 620m last Friday.
Over in NZ, he is the sire of recent G1 Futurity and St Leger winner and Oaks runner-up Cawbourne Krusty.
Breeders should take a look at her pedigree … it is a saturation of Wheeler bloodlines.
This is also the case with Dyna Double One's Victorian flag bearer Dyna Chancer.
