Breeding Career Beckons For MDC Bound Ezmae

JACK Smith knows he is on borrowed time with super racer Miss Ezmae as she stormed into the semi-finals of the Million Dollar Chase on Thursday.

JACK Smith knows he is on borrowed time with super race bitch Miss Ezmae.

The daughter of Barcia Bale and Zagati was devastating when romping to a 12 and a quarter length  win in the Dubbo Million Dollar Chase regional final on Thursday night in  29.22.

The 29.22 is the second fastest time ever run at Dubbo over 516m, only kennelmate Jungle Deuce (28.93) has gone faster.

It was only her second race start since “three months turned into five months” on the sidelines for the bitch.

“She had a season, then had a toe issue and then a pin muscle problem,” said Jack of the Lyndall McIntyre-owned glamour galloper.

“She's come back sprinting better than ever,” said Jack.

“It's hard to see her going on to 700 yards and sustaining the sort of speed she's showed in her first two runs back.

“We will go into the Million Dollar Chase semis and see how far she can progress.

“But the big staying race will be her grand final.”

That race is the $500,000-to-the-winner The 715m series at The Gardens in June.

"That's what we are aiming for. There's just the one target The 175 at The Gardens. If we can pick something up along the way, it would be great but the one race we want is the 715m."

Miss Ezmae has a breeding career on the horizon.

“This will be her last preparation,” said Jack. “The owners have already said their plans are to breed with her soon.”

The glamour bitch has raced 24 times for 15 wins and earned $159,000. She holds track records at Richmond, Dubbo and Bathurst, won the rich G2 Sydney Cup and been a finalist in the G1 Topgun Stayers.

Kennelmate Jungle Deuce (Barcia Bale-Serena Fly High) is no closer to a return to racing after chipping a hock.

“He's walking and having light exercise, but our vet John Newell wants us to give him more time,” said Jack.
