GREG Brennan reckons she might be "huge odds" but Spot On Harper deserves her place in Thursday night's Group 3 Dashing Corsair at Albion Park.

GREG Brennan reckons she might be “huge odds” but Spot On Harper deserves her place in Thursday night's Group 3 Dashing Corsair (710m) at Albion Park.

The daughter of My Redeemer-Ellie Grace was beaten a half head into second by Bogie Hurricane in last week's heat when a $61 rank outsider.

Brennan trains her for Kristen Sweeney for who it is her first greyhound and the winner of eight races and $37,000 is providing her with a huge thrill.

FIELDS AND FORM ALBION PARK THURSDAY NIGHT

Brennan, back after health problems “put me on the couch for 18 months”, gives the bitch a chance to get into the placings in the Dashing Corsair.

“She will run a respectful race,” said trainer Greg.

“Her race will be she'll drift back early but hopefully she can get a run through chasing the good ones.”

Brennan gave greyhound training away for 18 months and has only been back in for the past year.

Health problems forced him to have an operation and he admitted today the past three weeks is the best he has felt in three years.

He now has nine dogs in the kennel

GARRY Gilbert is at the other end of the scale with his Dashing Corsair finalist She's In Clover.

“Her hope is to get to the front,” said Garry.

“We are hopeful more than confident.”

She's In Clover (Orson Allen-You Angel You) is a classy bitch winner of 10 races and $62,000.

“She's always been the best of a very nice litter bred and raced by my mate Gary Dodt,” said Garry.

“But she has a habit of coming on season every six months. She has only been back racing since the start of May.”

Garry says the bitch's early pace was dimmed in the heat when second to Zipping Whiskey.

“The five lay on her early and that stopped her getting an early break,” he said.

“She's been a good bitch to us and she certainly has a chance.”
