Brett Frustrated Over The Q Trialling Plight

PREMIER trainer Tony Brett is a frustrated man.

Tony is among the greatest fans of The Q, the premier greyhound racing complex finding its feet with racing now being held there for the past few weeks.

But Brett, who is the first to admit he never uses social media, is so frustrated by The Q's trialling experiences that he has done just that.

"Can someone tell me who is actually organising trial days, limits on bookings, distances we can and can't trial over (e.g. no puppy trials)," Brett posted on his wife Fleur's Facebook page on Tuesday.

"Why we have allocated 15 hours of trials so far on the Q2 and have actually only had approximately 60 trials in total.

"When everybody is screaming out to get extra trials on the Q1 track.

"I have no idea who is running the show.

"There seems to be a lot of chiefs and not a lot of Indians actually liaising with the people that need the information.

"And where are they getting their guidance/information from in regards to actually training and trialling dogs.

"I simply want to know so I can make an appointment with them to discuss some of the questions above."

Brett knows The Q will be the greatest show on earth.

"This time next year, it will be the best in the world," he said today.

"My concern is that I have a couple of litters here just starting out and want to be able to trial them to get fit to run further.

"It is a process I have used always, but with trainers restricted to sets of two trials, how can this happen?

"And, that is providing you can get a trial spot.

"It is harder these days to get a trial than it is to win a race. How do kennels with 40 or 50 dogs get their dogs cleared, or trialled at all."

Brett is aware that the new complex needs to sort out "teething problems" and is equally aware they will be fixed.

But he is also among the many trainers desperately trying to overcome the frustrations of get to The Q.
