Brotherly Bragging Rights Up For Grabs At Hobart

BROTHERLY bragging rights are again up for grabs when Raging Ralston and Stanley Gordon clash in tonight’s Winning Edge Invitation (461m) at Hobart.

BROTHERLY bragging rights are again up for grabs when Raging Ralston and Stanley Gordon clash in tonight's Winning Edge Invitation (461m) at Hobart.

The record breaking siblings are no strangers to facing off against each other and with their exploits over the past six or so months, it is certainly something they'll need to get used to.

The last time they did match motors was in last month's Group 1 Hobart Thousand Final where Stanley Gordon finished fourth and Raging Ralston sixth behind a rampaging Hooked On Scotch.

In recent weeks, trainer Ted Medhurst has journeyed to Launceston with the star sons of My Bro Fabio to prepare for next month's Group 2 Launceston Cup and back to their favourite stomping ground tonight at Hobart, are expected to put on quite the show.

Early markets for the fourth event on tonight's card can't separate the two at even money take your pick.

Raging Ralston has drawn box two while Stanley Gordon has trap five.

Tonight's feature event at Hobart is the final of the Dennis Collis Memorial over the 461 metres.

Programmed for fifth grade chasers, five heats were staged last Thursday where the time-standard was set by the Ted Medhurst-trained My Desiree at 26.21.

A daughter of Fernando Bale and Keune, My Desiree has drawn box six for tonight's final where she's a slender $3.10 favourite ahead of 26.47 heat winner Whiskey River for trainer Debbie Cannan. Cannan also owns My Desiree.

And while that pair head the market, the even nature of tonight's final is there for all to see, with seven of the eight finalists quoted under double figure odds in early markets.

The best bet on tonight's Hobart card looks to roll around in race two where Ben Englund's last start Devonport winner Wynburn Gold looks awfully hard to beat over the 461 metres.

On the quick back up after scoring in stylish fashion at Devonport on Tuesday, the daughter of Dyna Double One looks placed to continue the terrific run of form her trainer is enjoying, headed up by Wynburn Lethal's Breeders' Classic Final win on Tuesday.
