TASSIE’s multiple premiership trainer Anthony “Bull”  Bullock produced an astonishing effort when he trained a staggering seven winners on the eleven-race program at Hobart last Thursday night.

Millie Magna’s box five win delivered a $1,000 donation from the Apple Isle to the Yellow Dog Makes Hay nation-wide fundraising night, which was just one of the successful runners from Bullock’s Exeter-based kennels.

Anthony’s night kicked off with Gold Drift, successful bringing up his fourth career victory.

“A great result,” Bullock said.

“We’ve had five winners before, but this is the biggest effort I’ve ever had, I could have got eight winners for the night, but we got knocked off by Mac Massive (Juddalon 2nd).

“I purposely waited out for these short sprint graded races and it’s about having the right dogs in their class and the right box draws.”

Posh Amber completed a winning hat-trick, the 53 start veteran contesting a grade 5 340m event off box four – starting as the $1.75 favourite.

The Cosmic Rumble x Posh Emma bitch chased kennelmate Dancing Barefoot into the straight before she powered down the centre of the track, running out a convincing winner to score by two lengths in red-hot 19.37.

“Posh Amber is a good bitch, everything went in her favour on Thursday, she loves Hobart and has won six races from 17 starts on the track,” told Anthony.

Willie Win and Alolo Mss produced a good battle over 461 metres as the Kinloch Brae x Millie Minor littermates came together in the straight, with Willie Win coming off the better to score by 1 ¾ lengths in 26.34, his tenth career win in 41 starts.

Whoop Bang, Benky Bomber and Cashmerra rounded out the night for Bullock all over 340 metres, with each well in the short-priced odds range.

Queensland-based owner Paul Turtle received a winning double courtesy of Gold Drift and Whoop Bang.

“Whoop Bang was a cheap purchase for Paul (Turtle) and has been a real handy dog for him, he loves an inside draw and box one for any dog is an advantage,” said Bullock.

Anthony has won the last ten of eleven trainers’ premierships on record in Tasmania.

He looks to have a firm grip on his eleventh trainers title thus far with 2226 points. From 72 runners, Anthony’s kennel has produced 1490 starters with 128 winners and 325 minor placings.

Bullock sits 24th on the top 100 list of trainers Australia wide – terrific statistics!
