Burman Hopeful Of Silver Dollars Boilover

MARY Burman says hot favourite No Easy Beat can be beaten in Thursday's Molly Campbell Silver Dollars Final (520m) at Albion Park.

RIVAL owner Mary Burman says raging hot favourite No Easy Beat can be beaten in Thursday night's highly anticipated Molly Campbell Silver Dollars Final (520m) at Albion Park.

Not that Mary is supremely confident, after No Easy Beat ran a scorching 29.60 to win his heat of the Silver Dollars last week for Caboolture trainer Rusty Dillon and then came up with the rails.

There is however method in Mary's “madness”.

“I'd like to think we have a chance of beating him,” said Mary.

“But, gee coming off a 29.60 heat win and drawing the rails makes him very hard to toss.”

Ray and Mary Burman have four littermates, Dynamite Lucy, Master Douglas, Blue Diva and Big Boy Bruce in the Silver Dollars final.

They are by Paw Licking from the Burman's former star stayer and now broodbitch great Bizarre Barbie.

She is already the dam of Group stars Champagne Sally and Magic Hornet.

“The thing about No Easy Beat is that he likes to use a bit of the track, and if something can get up on his outside and put a bit of pressure on him … it just might help our cause,” she said.

The Burmans Blue Diva has box two but Mary says the quality bitch, already a multiple feature race finalist, can be hit and miss at the start.

“It depends on if she settles in the boxes,” said Mary.

“Sometimes she will sit at the back and then come out last. But if it is one of those nights she comes to the front, she will begin well.”

Burman said Steve Scott's finalist Farmor Fearsome could hold the key to success for No Easy Beat.

“Steve's dog has been breaking 5.50 to the first mark with consistency and he could be the one to get up on No Easy Beat's outside early and cause him trouble,” said Mary.

Rusty Dillon had one wish before the box draw for Silver Dollars.

“He needs a bit of a clear run early so either side of the track would be helpful,” said Rusty.

Rusty's young star No Easy Beat (Zambora Brockie-Lilly Sur Seine) scored by almost 11 lengths.

It was his sixth win in 11 starts. All his four wins at Albion Park have been in sub 30-seconds.

It didn't take long for the smile on Rusty's face to get broader. No Easy Beat again came up with the one box.

Dillon admitted his youngster, owned by veteran dog man Kevin Bryant, had suffered from minor injury worries in his career to date but he expects No Easy Beat to continue improving … a daunting prospect for future rivals.
