Can Drink Moet Maintain Champagne Run?

PROLIFIC winning sprinter Drink Moet will be shooting for six straight wins at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night from box one.

PROLIFIC winning sprinter Drink Moet will be shooting for six straight wins at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night.

The Michelle Sultana-trained chaser will exit box one in race five where victory will see the daughter of Sh Avatar reach 20 career victories.

"Right when she's meant to be slowing down she's found career best form," Peter Freney, manager of the First Past The Post syndicate, said.

"Full credit to Michelle (Sultana) for the form she's in. It's been remarkable."

Two runs ago Drink Moet comfortably downed Wow at Wentworth Park in a slick 29.84 before reeling off a career best 22.34 to score at Richmond over the 400 metres last Wednesday.

Winner at 19 of her 54 starts, Drink Moet, a daughter of Sh Avatar and top producer Silver Bullet, is nearing $75,000 in stake earnings with a future in the breeding barn well and truly sealed.

"When the time comes she'll go to Flying Ricciardo but with the way she's going that time might be a bit longer off now," Freney said.

"She's 3 ½ now so I was looking the other day to see the eligibility for the Masters Meteor during the Million Dollar Chase.

"Her older half-brother Drink Schooners made the final of the Meteor in 2019 so it would have been nice but she just misses out it seems."

The Sh Avtar and Silver Bullet litter which Drink Moet hails from is responsible for 75 wins from 194 starts at a winning strike-rate of almost 40 per cent.

Included in the litter is Drink Shoeys (18 wins), Unison (15 wins), Drink Beer (10 wins) and Left Unsaid (9 wins).

Boasting eight Wentworth Park wins, Drink Moet is perfectly poised to claim another city success on Wednesday night given her rich vein of form.

"She's been great to us," Freney said.

"Already she's made three group finals and to be racing as she is at 3 ½ is full testament to Michelle. Fingers crossed the ride continues on Wednesday night."

In a strong Wednesday night non-grade field, Drink Moet is up against group performer Ebby Infrared and exciting up and comer Where's Rocky in what should be an engrossing contest.
