RICHLY talented chaser Highly Effective rattled off a spectacular 29.66 to score the best win of his career at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Sent out a $6 third favourite behind more fancied runners Bit Flash and Murphy Rumble, Highly Effective soon put paid to his opposition's chances with a brilliant beginning from box six.

And after sailing to the lead through the first corner, it really was a case of times and margins, with the son of Silent Effective best known for his powerful finishing prowess.

Armed with unbridled ability, the at times hard to catch chaser produced by far his best performance at headquarters on Saturday night, extending his career record to 10 wins from 25 starts.

Trained by Darren Sultana, the January 2018 whelp showed the benefit of two recent 618 metre performances at Richmond, the most recent of those a confidence boosting 35.40 victory.

And while Highly Effective set the night's time-standard with a 29.66 romp, it took polished performances to record wins on the remainder of the program also, with each of the eight 520m events won in sub-30 second fashion.

Brown Sphere took out the opener for Merv Buckley in 29.95, while in the second event, trainer Michael Clayton's recent run of success continued with No Problem Here making full use of box one to score in 29.80.

In a rip-roaring finish to the free for all, it was box one bandit Poacher which grabbed a last stride win over runaway leader Ebby Jet Power in 29.87.

Trained by Owen Langley, Poacher's thrilling victory was the eleventh of his career at headquarters, unbeaten in each of his five starts in town from the inside alley.

On a quality night of racing, other winners over 520m were Unreal Ethics (29.90), Beau Herrera (29.72), Ritza Donald (29.75), and Showtime Jack (29.94), while the two distance events were won by Pearl Of Tahiti in 42.38 and Ninja Queen 42.49.
