Clash Of The Titans In Gold Bullion Decider

FERAL Franky and Sennachie reunite acquaintances in a gripping finale to the inaugural Group 1 Gold Bullion (520m) at Albion Park this Friday night.

POWERHOUSE sprinters Feral Franky and Sennachie reunite acquaintances in a gripping finale to the inaugural Group 1 Gold Bullion (520m) at Albion Park this Friday night.

Installed $2.50 joint favourites by TAB for the $150,000 to-the-winner blockbuster, the group 1 winning stars go into the race boasting two wins against each other apiece, while unofficially the ledger is narrowly skewed Sennachie's way 3-2, by way of his exhibition match-race success at Sandown on Melbourne Cup night.

Friday night's clash has all the ingredients to be an epic.

Sennachie progressed through to the big dance by way of his sizzling 29.39 group 3 Golden Ticket triumph on Boxing Day, the winning time just outside the 29.38 track record he established when winning the Group 1 Brisbane Cup last July.

Feral Franky secured his final berth with a 12 ¾ length demolition job in his heat last Thursday, stopping the clock in 29.67 and in doing so extending his Albion Park record to four wins from as many appearances, the highlight of those his Flying Amy Classic win last June.

Time honours from last week's qualifiers was set by the Terry Jordan-trained Fernando Blaster in 29.66, while Million Dollar Chase hero Good Odds Harada, a brother to Feral Franky, toughed out a gritty 29.89 victory for Frank Hurst.

The draw for the finale has only added to the intrigue.

Feral Franky will exit box two while Sennachie has drawn five. Fernando Blaster will wear the blue rug with Good Odds Harada, in line to surpass Fanta Bale as our greatest prize money earner with victory, has drawn box three.

The meeting also sees the group 1 Gold Cup set down for decision with the race favourite Boom Down for Andrea Dailly.

The son of Magic Sprite ran down hometown hero Bago Bye Bye on the line in last week's heats in 41.92, a fraction slower than the 41.89 Just Terms recorded winning the other qualifier at her Albion Park debut.
