Unleash Collinda Set For Straight Track Stardom

STEPHANIE Tyler might be biased but she is tipping improvement to come from her star sprinter Unleash Collinda when he runs in the Group 3 National Straight Track Championship final (350m) at Healesville on Saturday morning. 

Jason Thompson trains the son of Beast Unleashed and Audacious Bell for Stephanie and her husband Sam and he was awesome when winning the Victorian final on Sunday in 19.89 downing arch rival Maybe Yesterday and Cybertruck.

It was his 11th win in his past 14 starts.

“He was not 100 percent right for his past two starts,” said a proud Stephanie.

“But, he will be for the final on Saturday. Expect improvement.”

Stephanie admits she “balled my eyes out” when Unleash Collinda won the state final.

“A few people had written him off,” she said.

“That one was really special for us … very special.”

Unleash Collinda holds the track record for both distances at Healesville as well as the 400m time-standard at Geelong and has been a major force in feature straight races around the country.

“I know Jason and Sam have spoken about it and all going well, he will head to whatever feature straight races are on,” said Stephanie.

“That includes another trip to Capalaba in Queensland.”

Stephanie was beaming about the dog and the esteem her family has for him.

“He's a no fuss dog,” she said.

“But, he's amazing and he just loves to race.

“Apart from tearing a monkey muscle during the Warrnambool Cup carnival, he has been racing without stop for a long time.

“We are hoping he can continue at least until the end of the year.”

Such is the amazing record Unleash Collinda beholds, he was recently registered for stud dutiues, the three-time track record breaker standing for $1650.
