Stunning Win Sees Zipping Zeek NSW Sprint Bound

HUGELY talented Zipping Zeek produced a masterclass performance at Wentworth Park on Saturday to stop the clock in a blistering 29.35.

ZIPPING Zeek produced a masterclass performance at Wentworth Park on Saturday night to stop the clock in a remarkable 29.35.

And in doing so the son of Zulu Zeus confirmed he'll be a major player when the TAB Million Dollar Chase series gets underway in just under a month's time.

Generally a risky beginner, Zipping Zeek began with perfection at headquarters on Saturday night, rolling to the front in 5.41 early before going 17.80 up the back and peeling off a trademark powerhouse run home of 11.55.

The win, defeating a gallant Furious Not Fast by 1 ¾ lengths, extended his record to 10 wins from 17 starts, with his next assignment next week's heats of the State Sprint Championships.

Just a race before Zipping Zeek's sizzling run, crowd-pleasing stayer Good Juan returned to the winner's with a powerhouse 41.96 victory over the 720 metres.

Giving away his customary hefty start, the much-hyped chaser gathered in early leader It's A Flirt heading off the top turn before steaming away by seven lengths to claim career win number 10.

Trainer Harry Sarkis will now head towards the State Distance Championships with the prodigious talent and on the strength of Saturday night's rampaging performance will take a power of beating.

The first race on Saturday night's card was annexed by Romantic Storm which gunned down Defining Moment late in the piece in 30.14.

Trained by George Borg, who put the polish on Good Juan prior to his big money sale, Romantic Storm was most impressive in recording victory in the $5,000 to-the-winner event.

The victory by the son of Barcia Bale relegated mother and daughter Doreen and Kerry Drynan to the minors, with Dyna Double One littermates Defining Moment and Saucy Smile filling the placings.

The final event of the night saw the Michelle Sultana-trained Unison turn in another sizzling performance to record an all-the-way 29.73 victory.

Showing blinding early speed to run through the first section in 5.40, Unison never looked in danger of victory, holding a 4 ¼ length margin at the line over Forner's Flame.

Look for the son of Sh Avatar to be front and centre when the Group 2 Black Top gets underway at Ladbrokes Gardens in a couple of weeks time.
