REDCLIFFE owner-trainer Dennis Moore has his sights set firmly on a second Ipswich Auction series victory when High Order runs in a semi-final of the Auction (431m) on Saturday night.

Back in 2008, Dennis won the 520m series with Elise Ordette.

High Order (Dyna Double One-Slayer Return) goes into Saturday night's semi unbeaten in three starts over 431m at Ipswich and he is already the $2.70 favourite to win his way into next week's final.

His 25.07 win at Ipswich two runs back off the eight box is the key to his chances on Saturday night. He has drawn the seven in the semi-final.

“I paid $3000 for him at the auction and liked him the moment I saw him,” said Dennis. “He was about eight months old and he had everything about him I like in a dog.”

Dennis has spent many decades checking over greyhounds and show dogs with great success.

“I look for traits in dogs and this bloke had it all,” he said.

He is also out of the classy race bitch Slayer Return (Don't Knocka Him-Jackpot Return) who won 13 races for Anthony Vohland and his dad Noel. She too was an Ipswich 431m specialist.

Dennis rates High Order a great chance in the semi-final.

“He's a very intelligent dog,” he said. “Probably too intelligent for his own good.”
