Drink Tins Roars Into Young Guns Mix

CHRIS Brydon remembers back to 2017 when the first greyhound he ever trained was given to him by Pete Freney and his mates.
"It was a dog called Kick Em Over and he had so much ability," said Brydon. "I got him because I was mutual friends with Bobby Hodges and Pete.
"The dog won a maiden at Maitland, my first winner. But, he had chase issues."
Fast forward to 2025 and Pete and his syndicate members have entrusted now Queensland-based Brydon with the extra smart Drink Tins (Flying Ricciardo-Drink Moet).
On Thursday night, Drink Tins followed his great third to Backcreek Benny in the Group 2 Rockhampton Cup with a stylish all-the-way win in a heat of the G3 Young Guns (520m) at Albion Park.
On a rain-affected track, he ran 30.15 to down Miles On It by almost five lengths.
Chris and his family have been at Churchable for three years, moving north with the promise of The Q, and relishing the fact that glamour complex is now up and running.
Of Drink Tins, Chris is wrapped.
"He's staying for good," he said. "I love the dog. He has such a beautiful temperament.
"I've also got four by Feral Franky from the mother Drink Moet and they will be educated in the next month."
The victory in the Young Guns heat took Drink Tins' record to 36 starts for 12 wins and 12 placings with earnings of $58,000.
Other heats of the Young Guns went to:
Say When Glen (Hooked On Scotch-Kiss And Cut) for Denise Robinson in 29.84 beating Mossy Boots.
Star Turn (Aston Rupee-Strike Her Pose) for Jeff Crawford in 30.26 beating Non Stop Recall by three-quarters.
Zipping Gatsby (SH Avatar-Zipping Zamara) for Tom Tzouvelis beating kennelmate Simulate by almost four lengths in 30.23.
