‘Dumbfounded': Jay Is Jay Ruled Out Of Egg

SUPERSTAR Jay Is Jay has been ruled out of the upcoming Group 1 Golden Easter Egg series at Wentworth Park over Easter.

Mick Zammit, whose wife Selena trains the Million Dollar Chase winner, said this today.

“Dumbfounded,” said Mick of the dog's fourth placed finish in a Best 8 (520m) at Albion Park on Thursday night.

Jay Is Jay (Sennachie-Kealoah) started $1.45 in the race, his second start since resuming from a toe injury that put him out of the G1 Gold Bullion in January.

“We will get bloods done as soon as possible,” said Mick.

“There is no use taking him to Sydney. There has to be something wrong with him.”

Jay Is Jay resumed a week ago with a sensational 29.60 win in a Best 8.

Mick Zammit admitted he believed the dog, the Albion Park track record holder at 29.35, would go even quicker in last night's race than that 29.60 on resuming.

Jay Is Jay has now raced 42 times for 22 wins and nine placings earning $1.54 million.
