SUPERSTAR Jay Is Jay makes his return to racing at Albion Park on Thursday night with a word of warning from Mick Zammit.

Million Dollar Chase champ Jay Is Jay (Sennachie-Kealoah) has not raced since sensationally winning the Group 2 Golden Ticket in 29.37 at Albion Park on January 20.

FIELDS AND FORM ALBION PARK THURSDAY NIGHT

That win earned him immediate entry into the Group 1 Gold Bullion but the Zammits, Mick and his wife Selena, had to scratch Jay Is Jay on race eve with a minor toe injury.

“He's been trialling great, but he will be short of a run,” said Mick on Tuesday.

“We have decided to race him to get some runs into him for his main aim at the Golden Easter Egg.”

Jay Is Jay has drawn box six in a Best 8 (520m) at Albion Park on Thursday night and comes up against in-form Magistrate, a regular rival, as well as Seaton Key, kennelmate Another Chance etc.

He has come up with a vacant box on his inside.

The Zammit kennel is on fire, Jay Is Jay's litter brother All Natural winning the Group 2 Bundaberg Cup on Monday.

He too will be a Golden Easter Egg contender.

The Group 1 Easter Egg (520m) at Wentworth Park will be run with heats on March 30, semi-finals on April 6 with the $350,000-to-the-winner final on April 13.

Jay Is Jay contested the series in 2023 as a young dog and finished fifth in his heat behind Craig Chappelow's star bitch Embrace.

This followed a sensational 29.50 first-look trial on the track.

He went back to Wentworth Park later in the year to be unbeaten through the Ladbrokes Million Dollar Chase series.
