El Dorado All Set For Victorian Spring Campaign

FAST Sandown Park winner El Dorado will be given his chance in all the major glamour races coming up in Victoria in the coming weeks.

FAST Sandown winner El Dorado will be given his chance in all the glamour races coming up in Victoria after he reeled of a 29.38 all-the-way victory there on Thursday night.

El Dorado is from the Mepunga Blazer and Gold Vein litter, two of them, Barista Chick and Striker, having won at Traralgon on Wednesday night for the Holmes kennel.

“The trio are nice dogs but have had injury problems along the way,” said Daryl.

“Both Barista Chick and Striker had three or four months off with stopper tendon injuries.

“And, unfortunately, Striker did his again on Wednesday night so he is out for another three months.”

El Dorado is sound and racing well.

“I'll toss up between going back to Sandown with him or The Meadows, but he will be given his chance in the big races coming up,” said Daryl.

“Unfortunately, he did two hip supports as a young dog and missed out on all the classics.

“He can be hit and miss at the jump but is a very good chaser.”

He reports Barista Chick has come back as good as ever since her tendon injury having won four in a row at Traralgon.

“I'll step her up to 500 metres again now and take her back into the city,” he said.

“Thank goodness we have Des Fegan as a vet here.”

The talented litter continue to exemplify the successful impact Mepunga Blazer has had on the stud scene.

Boasting fantastic strike-rates, particularly in metro racing, Mepunga Blazer's winner to starters ratio rates up with the best best stud dogs in country.
