Embrace On Song For Silver Dollars Quest

OAKDALE trainer Craig Chappelow will pack up his family for the 12-hour drive to Albion Park on Thursday chasing more success with Embrace.

OAKDALE trainer Craig Chappelow will pack up his family for the 12-hour drive to Albion Park on Thursday chasing more feature race success with his star racer Embrace.

Embrace (Turanza Bale-Twisted Love) runs out of box six in a heat of the Silver Dollars at Albion Park and takes on some highly promising local youngsters.

The winner of the Group 1 Peter Mosman Opal, Embrace was taken to Ipswich by Chappelow and his family for the recent Young Guns series.

FIELDS AND FORM ALBION PARK THURSDAY NIGHT

“She is a fantastic traveller but the trip to Ipswich was a test for her to see how she would cope,” said Craig. “She handled the travelling without a bother but that first turn at Ipswich was tougher.”

A last-start 29.68 Wentworth Park win had made the industry sit up and take notice of a bitch which will not turn two until September.

“She got all the breaks in the Peter Mosman and especially around the first turn against bitches like French Martini and Yuko Girl,” said Craig.

“But, running 29.68 has made most re-evaluate her.”

The six box is not a worry at Albion Park according to Craig.

“She does like to draw middle to outside, but my worry is the eight (Scintillate) gets out ok and likes to come across.”

Chappelow is not worried that Embrace has not seen Albion Park.

“I took both Frosty Fruits and Little Sparkle to Albion Park without a run on the track and they both went well,” he said.

“I believe this bitch has the potential to be better than Frosty Fruits.

“I very much like her potential over 600 metres and believe she may even get further.”

Early wins at Wentworth Park means Embrace is now third grade at the track and Craig is aware he does not want to crucify his bitch against top class open opposition.

“The plans are to run in this series at Albion Park and then continue to chase age races,” he said.

“The Queensland Futurity later in the year is a good target. There is also a Young Stars race on during the Million Dollar Chase carnival.”

Embrace took a while to find her feet on the track.

Her first five starts at Wentworth Park she failed to run a place.

“When she won her maiden in 24.69 at Goulburn I knew she was something special,” said Craig.

“The breaking in report said we would have a bit of fun with her.

“Well that certainly is the case already.

“If she never did another thing, that Group 1 would be enough. But, she is very much like Frosty Fruits in her temperament and Frosty was a very good broodbitch. That is the long term aim with Embrace as well.”
