THE clash between emerging stars Red Hot Frankie and Fast Reason highlights racing at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night.

Demonstrating enormous ability on the provincial circuit, Red Hot Frankie readied for her city debut last Saturday with a flying 29.66s Dubbo victory while a day earlier Fast Reason scooted around The Gardens in a slick 29.48s.

The monstrous wins sets up a tantalising clash at headquarters on Wednesday night where the gifted youngsters are slated to clash in race three over the 520 metres.

FIELDS AND FORM WENTWORTH PARK WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Fast Reason heads into the assignment as the winner at three of his five starts for young trainer Jorja Howard, the son of Aston Dee Bee a graduate of the recent Zoom Top Maiden series at Goulburn.

Red Hot Frankie, a daughter of Feral Franky, makes her city debut for trainer Jack Smith who of course guided the budding superstar of the siring ranks throughout his spectacular career.

"She's only little and still learning but she's showing plenty of promise," Smith said of Red Hot Frankie.

"It was a while ago when she had her one and only trial at Wentworth Park and she didn't go that flash. But she's going a lot better now than she was then.

"Her best asset is her early speed and when you've got a tiny frame like hers that's where you want to be, out in front. If she gets out and finds the front she'll do herself proud."

Two starts ago Red Hot Frankie fell in an assignment at Bathurst before bouncing back to the winners list immediately with a 11 ¼ length trouncing of her rivals at Dubbo last Saturday.

And when she steps out for her first city appearance on Wednesday night she'll do so with a decent sized cheer squad behind her.

"She's owned by a syndicate of people from all walks of life in the town of Cobar," Smith said.

"They bought her as a puppy and are having the time of their lives with her. She's showing good promise and has a good career ahead. They've got a bit to look forward too."

Meanwhile, Smith has encountered a setback with the return to the track of his group 1 superstar Jungle Deuce.

"We've had to ease back up on him," Smith said. "He just puts so much into his runs it's impossible to ease him into things so it's back to square one.

"The next month or two will tell us what the future holds with him."
