THE enigmatic but hugely talented Extreme Force became the fourth fastest greyhound to race at Sandown Park on Sunday afternoon, clocking a stunning 28.931.

The son of Zambora Brockie pounced straight to the lead from box six, clocking splits of 5.07 and 18.54 before running home in 10.39 to record a stunning 11.75 length victory.

The time was the sixth fastest ever recorded behind Aston Rupee's track record 28.79 and 28.894, Wow She's Fast's 28.817 and 28.927, and Hard Style Rico's 28.909.

Formerly trained by owner Aaron Debattista, Extreme Force has had a chequered career since making his debut in September 2021.

Winning his commanding five lengths maiden heat win, Extreme Force was found guilty of marring a week later and suspended for 28 days.

Resuming at Bendigo in December, he again fell foul of stewards, this time for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment due to injury and was again suspended for 28 days.

He was on his best behaviour back at Shepparton four months later, blitzing his rivals by 13.75 lengths in 24.86 – just three lengths outside Mr Audacious' track record, however at Traralgon in May he was again found guilty of marring and sidelined for another 28 days.

Now in the care of Brooke Ennis and with one of the fastest runs recorded in history, connections will be crossing their fingers that the now 30-month-old can keep his concentration and string together consecutive races.

If he does, he'll be competitive in whatever he contests.
