Fast Run Has Cyndie Set For Jay Is Jay Showdown

CYNDIE'S Cyndie, fresh from a 29.58 win at Albion Park a week ago, faces up to the might of Million Dollar Chase winner and track record holder Jay Is Jay in a 520m Best 8 on Thursday night.

But the only reason the daughter of Dyna Double One and legend Queensland bitch Cyndie's Magic is in the race is because there was no 600m 5th Grade on the program.

Cyndie's Cyndie, bred, raced and trained by Cyndie Elson at Churchable, ran 29.58 when winning a 4th Grade at Albion Park last week.

Jay Is Jay resumed from an injury-enforced break in the Best 8 last week and went 29.63.

He ran a 5.47 first section to beat Magistrate by almost four lengths for Selena and Mick Zammit.

Cyndie's Cyndie has drawn the rails and Jay Is Jay the three box on Thursday night.

“Mum nominated her for a 600 metre fifth grade but they did not get enough for a race,” said son Travis today.

“She thought it best to run her back over 520 even though it is in the Best 8.”

Cyndie's Cyndie reeled off a 5.48 first section to lead easily in last week's fourth grade, but Travis says she is not a consistent beginner like that.

“Normally she will run around 5.60 to the first mark, but last week she just timed it perfectly,” he said.

“There is no doubt she is going to make a 600 metre bitch and maybe further.”

Cyndie's Cyndie has started 26 times for 10 wins and six placings earning $70,000.

She won the Mick Byrne Memorial at Albion Park last year.

And, she is from Cyndie's Magic's third litter, the two previous by Fernando Bale and Barcia Bale bringing her progeny to a total of earning won to $1.2 million.

“Cyndie's Cyndie is by Dyna Double One and we very much like them because of their strength,” said Travis.

“But, they can bark a bit.”

Travis reports his Group 1 class sprinter Bear's Bullet came on season after contesting the G1 Gold Bullion and will go back into training soon.
