Fernando's Express Record Run

FERNANDO'S Express became the second greyhound in his star-studded litter to break a track record, recording a sensational 29.52 over the 520-metre trip at Geelong on Friday night.

The son of Fernando Bale and Tears Siam – a brother of two-time track record breaker Tornado Tears and Group 1 Galaxy winner Rippin' Sam – jumped to the front and gave nothing else a chance, shaving a length off Hostile's time standard.

The Robert Britton-trained chaser has now 15 of his 40 race starts, including of his last five. He will line up in heat three of the Victorian State Sprint Series on Thursday night. – George Farrugia
