Five MDC Finalists To Back Up In Black Top

FIVE of the eight TAB Million Dollar Chase finalists are set to contest Friday night's heats of the Group 2 Sires On Ice Black Top (515m) at Ladbrokes Gardens.

Leading the charge is defending Black Top champion Zipping Kyrgios which will exit box one in the fifth and final heat of the $40,000-to-the-winner series.

The John and Minnie Finn-trained son of Aussie Infrared will defend his Black Top title fresh off his narrow second to McInerney in Saturday night's MDC decider at Wentworth Park.

Other MDC finalists to line-up at Ladbrokes Gardens on Friday night are French Martini (box 6) and Hold Me Up (box 1) in heat four, Agland Luai (box 8) in heat five and Gatlin (box 6) in heat one.

In a hugely interesting opening heat, Gatlin, fastest qualifier for the Million Dollar Chase, will match motors with Zipping Maserati, the son of Zipping Garth simply awesome in winning the MDC consolation at the weekend in a flying 29.52.

Winner at three of his four appearances at Ladbrokes Gardens, Zipping Maserati will be striving for a second group race title in the series, having annexed the Group 3 Brother Fox at Dubbo in May.

Heat three is set to produce another tantalising clash with quality bitches Good Odds Cash and Yuko Girl matching motors.

Trained within a stones-throw of each other at Londonderry, Good Odds Cash has drawn box six in her bid to return to the winner's list while Yuko Girl will exit box two.

The five winners and fastest three seconds will progress through to the following week's group 2 decider.
