Force Of Nature: Warren's Star Stuns At Goulburn
SUPER sprinter Gold Force broke the clock at Goulburn on Friday breaking the track record with a breathtaking 24.06 display.

TALENTED sprinter Gold Force returned from a long injury layoff in style on Friday, smashing the 440m track record at Goulburn.
The son of Aussie Infrared x Silver Scissors stopped the clock in 24.06, more than a length inside the old mark set by Hotel Whisky One (24.15) in the Goulburn Cup final last November.
Trainer Denice Warren overjoyed with the result and now eyeing off a big feature race interstate.
"It was a super effort…I almost had a heart attack when I saw the time. That's only his third go out of the boxes since he hurt himself in December so I'm very pleased with that, I didn't expect him to run that fast today," a jubilant Warren said on Friday night.
"A bit was made about his trial performance last week (24.16) but he was by himself and as everyone knows, it's a bit different when they get in a field. I knew he was a fast dog, but to run that time, that's the time of a very fast dog."
"We need to check him over tomorrow but I'm thinking of heading to the Ballarat Cup with him next. The heats are in a few weeks and the final is on Friday, May 30. We thought long and hard about going to ‘The Q' but I don't think he's had enough racing this campaign to be competitive with the calibre of dogs heading up there".
The two-and-a-half-year-old Gold Force improving his record to six wins from seven starts, with his only defeat coming by less than a length to Zipping Serrano at Wentworth Park late last year.
Warren admitting it has been "stressful" trying to rehabilitate her rising star after an extended injury layoff.
"He ended up with cracks in the hock and metatarsal after that run on December 12 ," she added.
"I just took my time making sure he was 100% before I brought him back to the track. I've put myself under a lot of pressure because I desperately wanted to do what was best for the dog and the owner [Michael Boots]."
"He's the fastest dog I've ever had but he's a big boy, almost 40kg, so there's a lot of stress on his body and there was always the worry that if we got him back too quick, it might end in tears."
Warren capping off her record-breaking day with a celebratory dinner fit for a champion.
"I'm going to have a scotch and some takeaway for tea tonight," she laughed.
"These things don't happen too often so I might treat myself tonight. Mowski Star had a record at Bulli for a while, Willie Blues used to hold the mark at Canberra and Gotta Problem still has the 700m record at Goulburn."
"But this guy [Gold Force] could be very special. A lot of credit must go to Peter Stanford who reared him, he's one of the best rearers around so I'd like to mention him. I'm just over the moon…now we just need him to stay sound."
