Good Odds Harada Claims Future Stars

With the 2017 version going the way of star NSW sprinter Sky Wave for Vic Sultana, the 2018 field assembled a terrific line-up of youngsters, headed by Jodie and Andy Lord who qualified four of the eight runners for the $7,000 to-the-winner finale.

And in a spirited betting race, where the slight favourite was fastest qualifier Bland Purr from box two, it was Good Odds Harada who found his way to the front heading off the top turn, before holding on late to prevail over runner-up Embossed in a sizzling 22.25.

Good Odds Harada qualified for Thursday's final on the strength of his comfortable 22.37 heat success following on from an eye-catching 22.65 Richmond P/T effort three weeks earlier.

The 18 month old son of Collision and Solar Pak – the dam's first litter to Fernando Bale producing chasers the ilk of Little Digger, Zagati and Off The Leash – is a litter-sister to Good Odds Meghan, hugely impressively winning her maiden at Richmond on Friday night for Hurst in a flying 22.58.
