Goosebumps For Cutlack After Shaye's Golden Win

“GOOSEBUMPS” is how Jedda Cutlack described her feelings when Shaye led throughout to win the Group 2 Golden Sands (600m) at Albion Park on Thursday night.

“I'm floating at the moment,” said Jedda of the daughter of Sh Avatar-Sawadee's victory over Milligan and Zipping Kyrgios.

“We've had a great run but this has been a very big thrill,” said Jedda today.

“Yes, she was boxed perfectly and she had to lead to win.

“I went into the series not that confident but for her to get there, it was special.”

Shaye, bred and owned by Peter and Sonia Davis, has now won 16 and been placed in 15 of her 59 starts for stakes of $154,000.

She has been a dog able to be taken everywhere to compete.

“She did take a while to settle in when she first arrived, but now as she has got older, she settles in nicely,” said Jedda.

“And, she is very flexible. We can mix her racing from 500 to 600 metres. I don't know if she will get 700 metres though.

“At the moment, the thought is to drop her back to 520m.”

JEMMA Daley landed the G2 Queensland Futurity (520m) with Hara's Pandora to continue her fabulous run of feature race success in the past year.

The daughter of Fernando Bale-Hara's Honey scored by four and a half lengths in 30.09 beating Balmy Nights and her littermate and kennelmate Hara's Opal. It was her ninth win in 23 starts for $98,000.

“The race panned out for her,” said Jemma.

“She has had a horrid run with box draws but the two suited her perfectly and when Balmy Nights got off in the back straight it gave our bitch the run through.”

Jemma is uncertain of immediate plans for Hara's Pandora.

“There are no feature races coming up at Albion Park in February, March or April so we might take a team south,” she said.

“Pandora is one of those bitches that needs a few looks at a track to gain confidence.

“That litter is exceptional.”

Hara's Herbie will press on to the Gold Ticket next week.
