GRNSW Join NSW Bushfire Appeal

GREYHOUND Racing NSW (GRNSW) is rallying behind those affected by the bush fires that have gripped the state by announcing significant fundraising initiatives on Saturday morning.

“Every time in January when a greyhound wearing the one rug or the five rug wins an event on a NSW TAB track, Greyhound Racing NSW will donate $100 to the bushfire appeal,” the GRNSW statement read.

“The significance of the two numbers is simply that the one and the five carry the red and yellow rugs respectively, colours synonymous with our brave fire fighters of Rural Fire Service.

“Starting (Saturday night with the two NSW meetings, at Wentworth Park and Bulli, each time either the red or yellow rugs are carried to victory, $100 will be added to the tally for those who have been impacted by the devastating bushfires around the State.

“In total there will be 76 TAB meetings – and around 800 races – held between today and January 31, and GRNSW is hopeful the numbers one and five feature prominently in all races at each of those meetings across NSW.”
