GRNSW Track Team Sent Into Wentworth Park
THE Greyhound Racing NSW track team have been parachuted into Wentworth Park ahead of this Saturday’s G1 National Derby and Futurity meeting.

THE Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) track team have been parachuted into Wentworth Park ahead of this Saturday night's showpiece Group 1 National Derby and Futurity meeting.
GRNSW Acting CEO Wayne Billett made the move on Monday after receiving a number of calls from furious trainers – both local and interstate – about the state of the track at last Saturday night's feature race meeting.
"The GRNSW track team arrived at Wentworth Park on Tuesday morning and we will have a presence on site for the week," Mr. Billett said.
"Our team will work feverishly to ensure the track is at its optimum for Thursday night's meeting leading into Saturday night's Group 1 card.
"Over the last few days I've had a number of calls from participants venting their concerns and I want to make it abundantly clear that we've heard those concerns.
"Right now our priority is to ensure the track is where it needs to be this week and then we will engage with the NSW GBOTA about things moving forward.
"Wentworth Park is the centrepiece of our industry. We need to make sure we get it right and we will."

On Tuesday morning, news filtered through that leading National Derby hopeful Trio Of Clowns had been withdrawn from the Group 1 finale following his heat win last weekend.
That led to Golden Easter Egg winning trainer Michelle Sultana, daughter of Trio Of Clown's trainer Sam, issuing the following statement on Facebook.
"The Wentworth Park track is an absolute disgrace and it's about time the people at the top do something," Sultana said.
"Someone needs to be held accountable. It's been happening for months and nothing gets done.
"Close the place down and get this track right. It's embarrassing!
"And we are sick of hearing sorry."
It's understood what added further frustration to officials was the decision for trialling to go ahead on Monday night, a mere 48 hours after the track issues had been raised.
The Greyhound, Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC) has been contacted for comment.
