Group 1 Winner Graded To Perfection At HQ

TRAINER Daniel Gatt's clever placing of Wyndra All Class has her extremely well graded in a fourth and fifth class event at HQ on Wednesday.

TRAINER Daniel Gatt's clever placing of Wyndra All Class has the group 1 National Futurity winner and Saturday's group 3 The Ambrosoli victor looking extremely well graded in a fourth and fifth class event at Wentworth Park on Wednesday.

Wyndra All Class, who led throughout from box one in a blistering 29.44 at WP on Saturday night, is chasing her 13th win over the 520m trip at headquarters in Wednesday's gapnsw.com.au Stakes.

FIELDS AND FORM WENTWORTH PARK WEDNESDAY

“She pulled up perfectly after Saturday night's race and is certainly well graded,” Gatt said.

“I entered her for this meeting because due to the long weekend nominations closing early I thought she might be well placed.

“I guess some of the other trainers in this race won't be too happy but it's not my fault, I don't make the rules.”

Wyndra All Class moves out to box five on Wednesday but as she tends to run in the centre of the track she should only need to begin cleanly to again  lead all the way.

Saka Boom, which was badly checked when in a prominent spot in a 520m maiden race at WP last Wednesday, pulled up well and gets his chance to atone in this week's NSW GBOTA Welcome Maiden, 520m.

Saka Boom has finished down the course in each of two starts, both at WP, but trainer Brendan Anthes said the dog has more ability that that would suggest.

“He has been trialling a lot better than he has been racing,” Anthes said.

“Before he started racing he clocked a respectable 24.60 in a post-to-post slip at WP while at Lithgow he trials very fast.

“At Lithgow his times are as good as his half brother Poacher, who was trained for me by Owen Langley.”

Poacher won 14 races and filled 20 placings at WP before his retirement.

Brilliant provincial short course sprinter Kiss Me Kev makes his WP debut and his first test beyond 400m when he exits box one in Wednesday night's Ladbrokes Mates Mode fifth grade.

Kiss Me Kev has won his past five starts over 400m at Maitland and Ladbrokes Gardens and won at his sole appearance out of box one.

Trainer Chris Kedwell said: “I have given Kiss Me Kev a couple of 520m trials at Wenty and he has gone half-decent.

“In each trial he only clocked 30.30 but going through the catching pen he drifted off a little and I think he is still learning how to handle 520 metres.”

My Lucy Rose led throughout from box five and clocked a slick 30.16 winning a 520m maiden at WP on November 16 but lost the win when stewards declared the event a “no race.”

That was due to a malfunction of the green light which resulted in the dogs being in the starting boxes for longer that than usual.

My Lucy Rose did not race from November, 2022, until contesting a 520m maiden at Nowra on April 3 when she led throughout from box seven.

At Nowra the Ashleigh Harris-trained bitch showed great dash in the run to the first turn and gets her chance for a  well-deserved WP win in Wednesday night's Ladbroke It! Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

My Lucy Rose railed well at Nowra so may be better suited from an inside draw, but possesses enough early zip to be able to cross and lead around the first bend.
