VICTORIAN greyhound racing's showpiece events will be broadcast on Racing.com as part of a groundbreaking free-to-air partnership announced on Monday.

The deal struck between Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) and Victorian Thoroughbred Racing IMB (VTRIMB) will see greyhound racing take the spotlight on the dedicated Victorian and South Australian thoroughbred channel across five major Saturday nights during November and December.

Those meetings will showcase GRV's lucrative Metropolitan Festival of Racing which includes the $1m Melbourne Cup Final at Sandown Park and the $1.6 million The Phoenix at The Meadows.

In announcing the deal, GRV Acting CEO Stuart Laing said the deal provided the perfect platform to showcase the richest greyhound festival in the world.

"We couldn't be more excited to partner with VTRIMB to showcase the Metropolitan Festival of Racing nationally on Racing.com on free-to-air and subscription television," Laing said.

"This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase the excitement and entertainment of the very best in greyhound racing to the widest possible audience on Australia's only dedicated free-to-air racing channel, Racing.com.

"Racing.com viewers will get to see the world's best greyhounds racing for more than $4.1 million in prize money during this time where we will be broadcasting the best of the best to a national audience."

"The Racing.com channel's unique national metropolitan (Channel 78) and regional (Channel 68) free-to-air offering and carriage on Foxtel is a perfect platform for GRV to showcase these five massive meetings which will directly follow on from the sensational Spring and Summer Victorian thoroughbred racing that will take place on those days," Campbell said.

"This is a great opportunity for greyhound racing fans to experience GRV's five premium race meetings in a unique platform that only the Racing.com channel can offer."
